Originating in southeast Asia , the mango has more than 100 varities. Also, a mango is an edible stone fruit produced by the tropical tree Mangifera indica which is believed to have originated from the region between northwestern Myanmar, Bangladesh and northeastern India.

Mango Mastani is a rich thick and creamy drink topped with ice cream, dry fruits, nuts and freshly chopped mango chunks . A delightful drink for all mango lovers.

The mango milkshake with ice cream is a popular street food recipe from Pune, named after the Peshwa Bajirao Ballal Balaji Bhat's wife Mastani.


Mango Mastani or Mango Maharani is a delicious and gorgeous desert drink or mango milkshake with ice cream prepared using puree from fresh seasonal mangoes blended with thick full-fat milk and ice cream which is then topped with some more vanilla ice cream or mango ice cream , dry fruits and nuts.


INGREDIENTS



▪3 cups mangoes ripe and chopped. 

▪Chilled 1½ cup of mango ice cream ( 2 to 3 scoops)

▪Sugar depending on the sweetness of mango and ice cream.


For Toppings


▪4 scoops mango or vanilla or pistachio ice cream 
▪2 tsp sliced Almonds
▪2 tsp sliced Pistachios
▪2 tsp raisins 
▪½ cup chopped chunk mangoes 


In a Blender or juicer add chilled mangoesIce cream, milk and blend until smooth. Check for sweetness and add sugar only if needed. Do not add any water while blending.


The consistency of this drink should be thick and creamy. Till you are ready to serve, keep it in refrigerator 


When you are ready to serve pour ¾ of the serving glass with prepared milkshake, add a scoop of ice cream and garnish it with almonds, pistachio and raisins and some more mango chunks.


TIPS AND SUBSTITUTES TO MAKE BEST MANGO MASTANI 

• Use thick full-fat milk or whole milk to make this drink.

• Make sure the mangoes are ripe and sweet not sour.

• The color of drink varies depending on the color of the mango.

• See that mangoes or mango puree and milk that you are using is chilled for better results.

• You can also garnish it with tutti frutti, glazed cherries, saffron, cashewnuts, whipped cream etc.
